HR Assistant
*ETHOS LABORATORIES* – Newport, KY
LOCATION: This position is located in Newport, KY, two blocks from Newport on the Levee.
HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years of previous experience providing administrative support for senior managers, preferably in an HR environment
- At least 1 year of HR Generalist experience
- At least 1 year of experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
- At least 1 year of experience recruiting in scientific, production (non-manufacturing), and medical billing/accounting environments
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR/General Administration
- Responsible for the maintenance of employee personnel files, including filing, auditing, etc.
- Responsible for tracking and collection of new hire paperwork
- Responsible for maintaining and updating spreadsheets and binders tracking Hepatitis B vaccinations and I-9 forms
- Helps to prepare documentation for inspections and audits
- Responds to requests for information regarding verification of employment, unemployment, etc.
- Assists with recruiting activities, such as phone screening and reference checks
- Orders pre-employment drug screens/background checks
- Other duties as assigned
Benefits and Payroll
- Responsible for processing new hire enrollments, terminations, and changes with benefits carriers, including COBRA
- Fields routine benefits questions
- Responsible for processing new hires, terminations, and employment changes in payroll system
- Responsible for submitting biweekly payroll in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring all time-keeping is accurate before submitting payroll
Employee Engagement and Event Planning
- Coordinates all events surrounding employee engagement, wellness, and charitable giving
